The St'at'imc Summer Science Camp will be coming to Ts'kw'aylaxw during the week of August 13th to 17th. The camp is open to children ages 5 to 12 years of age. The camp will be located in the basement of the Band office. Children will need to pack a lunch each day. For more information please contact Sherry Kane by phoning 250-256-4204 extension 353.
Currently the Head Start is partnering with the Administration office to offer Culture Nights each Tuesday to the members of the community. We are doing activities such as regalia's, scrap booking, candle making, drum making, and many more activities. Those interested may contact Sherry Kane at extension 353 for more information.
Those who are interested in receiving assistance for tutors may contact Sherry Kane at extension 353 for more infomration. To request funds for a tutor you will need to submit a letter requesting tutor funds. The letter should contain the name of the tutor, cost per hour, length of each sessions, and sessions per week. Also, a letter from the teacher stating the additional support will enhance the child's education.
When the education department has received attendance records from the school a cheque requisition will be forwarded to the finance clerk for those students who qualify for the allowance. When the cheques are ready they will then be delivered to the schools.
