The National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation (NAAF) would like to invite students to be a part of NAAF’s 2011 Education Series scheduled to take place in Vancouver the week of February 22-24, 2012.
The events include:
1. Education Series Career Fair an excellent opportunity to bring together Indigenous students and provide them with a connection to representatives from different colleges, universities, federal and provincial governments, corporations, and aboriginal organizations, also students will partake in workshops and receive information regarding NAAF’s scholarship and bursary program.
2. Youth Day at the University of British Columbia provides Indigenous high school students with the opportunity to visit the campus, participate in different workshops, a daylong scavenger Hunt Tour, lunch will be provided at the Sty-Wet-Tan at the UBC Longhouse.
3. Tour of the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards venue, learn about production, meet NAAA laureates, involves Indigenous grade 4-5 students.
The Education Series Career Fair and Youth Day at the University of British Columbia is open to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students in grades 9 – 12. The events are free of charge to students and staff and also include a free complimentary for those attending.
To participate in the career fair please see the attached registration forms or you can access NAAF’s website at www.naaf.ca and download the registration package and fax the completed registration forms back to the NAAF office at 866-433-3159. The registration deadline is January 20, 2012 and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that space is limited and a prompt response will insure your students are able to attend.
A limited number of hotel rooms are available for staff and students attending the Education Series Career Fair, free of charge to those who are traveling long distances from out of town and are on a first come basis first serve basis, please see registration guidelines for more information.
