To Ts’kw’aylaxw First Nation Community Members,

The TFN Emergency Operations Centre has been prepared in the event that we are to fully activate. We have not seen significant growth today July 23, 2026, and have been in regular meetings with BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and all relevant Organizations to coordinate Emergency Operations. We have Cultural Monitors on site full time with road access closed going up the Pavilion Clinton Road. We have 3 Cultural Monitors on call to go on Site to report back to us to help give us live feedback on the Fire Crew and Fire Activity as it comes in. We will be providing updates as they come in with Situation Reports on Pear Lake and any other relevant fire along with our latest updates in-house via our app, website and Facebook Page, please reference those locations for the official TFN Responses.
-Weather for the next four days are looking cooler temperatures with possible rain.
Latest Situation Report from Pear Lake Fire:
JULY 23, 2026 - Crews will continue to be challenged by hot and dry conditions and challenging terrain on this fire. We anticipate further fire growth and an increase in fire activity throughout the day.
Machine guard has been completed on the south flank from a scree slope above the train tracks towards the Pavilion Clinton Road. Crews are creating hose lays along the southern guard. On the east flank, the fire has crossed the Pavilion Clinton Road near the height of land and continues to burn to the east. Helicopters will continue to support ground crews throughout the day with bucketing. Access on the north continues to be a challenge due to steep, inoperable terrain.
Structure protection triage and set up has been completed between Pear Lake and Kelly Lake. Today crews will work on triaging in the Clinton area. Structure protection triage means identifying the needs for apparatus and equipment in the event it needs to be implemented.

TFN EOC Team,
